Julia finds Alex extremely attractive and feels the shift that has transpired between them. Her flirting with Alex is harmless in her mind and Julia’s stubborn determination to keep Alex at arms-length only serves to encourage his advances.

Alex exudes confidence and control and is certainly not afraid to go after what he wants, especially when the pursued resists him ever so diligently. But Alex is determined to break down Julia’s attempts at playing it safe, and is not afraid to pull out all the stops to make it happen. Alex recognizes there is so much more to the magnetism between them if only Julia would succumb to the feelings that simmer just beneath the surface.

I was thrilled when Barbie announced she would be giving us Julia’s story and I LOVED every moment of this story. Alex’s pursuit of Julia was nothing short of entertaining and full of humorous exchanges, smoldering glances and steamy encounters. The witty banter was amusing, the chemistry between Alex and Julia was tangible, and the story was beautifully executed. I especially enjoyed the cameos from Sabrina and Tyler, the characters from Barbie’s debut novel, Promise Me, and I applaud Barbie on a job well done.

Sassy, funny, way steamy, sexy AND the Hero/Alex is supposed to be a dead ringer for “Sawyer from Lost”. Well I never saw that show but I’ve seen pics and that “Sawyer” dude (Josh Holloway) is some kinda hottie. OMG! Those dimples, the hair!!! He flips my switch that’s for sure. So….that being the biggest selling point along with my Goodreads buddy Jen’s review for this one, I was “All In” as my bk boyfriend Ethan Blackstone would say. With Sawyer’s face in my head this was a win/win read for me. D

Really liked the h/Julia…argumentative, sarcastic, snarky, funny (my kind of heroine). And she’s a hot chick who doesn’t realize it (love those!). No need to gush on anymore about Alex/Sawyer (oh, but I could). The side characters are very entertaining too. Story is about Alex having a long time crush on Julia and now that the time is right he's going for it with gusto. What's not to like?!?

Lots of fun and an easy read with extra props to Jen for this one. ;D
Sigh, Julia....My funny, sassy, Seinfeld loving, kick-ass BFF with the mouth of a drunk sailor, ohh how I missed you!! If I haven't mentioned it before I have a bit of girl crush Julia. I absolutely loved her character in Promise Me so I was thrilled to hear that she was going to be getting her own book.

Julia is beautiful, smart, runs a successful event planning business, and has a great family. It most aspects of her life everything is perfect, except for her love life. When her boyfriend Aiden left her 5 years ago, it truly broke her heart and since then she's gone through more than her share of losers. Julia is tough as nails but the breakup left a bit of vulnerability in her tough exterior.

She had sworn off dating, but when Alex made his intentions known, Julia started to second guess her decision. Alex and Julia have been friends over the years and they've casually flirted but it's not until she helps plan his niece's birthday party, do they become much closer.

Now I liked Alex in Promise Me, but he had me swooning in this story. He exuded confidence and sex appeal (and he looked like Sawyer from Lost, yum!). Alex was a great match for Julia. He had a successful career, he was sweet, and he let it her be her. I loved the banter and chemistry between these two. It was hot, funny, and sexy as hell. Things were really going well for them until, "he who shall not be named" aka Aiden made a reappearance in her life.

I really enjoyed this book. Yes, at times I wanted to shake Julia because she truly let Aiden put seeds of doubt into her head. It wasn't like her but I could see her hurt from her past break up wasn't something she had really dealt with yet. I also loved seeing Sabrina and Tyler make a few appearances as well. This story was a fun, engaging read. Barbie wrote it with humor, wit, and it was easy to like the characters. I definitely recommended it.
